How Early Media Coverage of Young Britney Spears Sparked Concern
A look at how entertainment media once treated young performers, and why many viewers now see those moments as inappropriate and troubling.

WTF did I just watch!

I came across this resurfaced footage and honestly felt disgusted the entire time. We’re talking about pre-teen Britney Spears — like 10 to 13 years old — and grown men (narrators, judges, TV hosts) were already making creepy, sexualized comments about her body, her dancing, and her “development” right on national television. The way they zoomed in, the disgusting “jokes,” the way they talked about a literal child like she was some kind of sex object… it’s straight-up predatory behavior that somehow flew under the radar back then. This wasn’t one or two weirdos. This was mainstream entertainment media openly participating in the grooming and sexualization of a little girl for entertainment and profit. It’s the same sick pattern we’ve seen time and time again in Hollywood and the music industry: take a talented young girl, hyper-sexualize her as early as possible, make millions off her, then act shocked years later when she has a breakdown. This video is hard to watch, but it’s important. It exposes how normalized this degeneracy was (and still is) in the entertainment world. They didn’t just sexualize Britney — they started when she was a child, and everyone laughed along like it was normal. This is why so many former child stars end up completely broken. The industry has been rotten for decades. This is just more proof, and yes Mel Gibson sounded the alarm about this topic and he was right, back in 2005! If you have the stomach for it, watch the video. But be warned — it’s disturbing as fuck. What the actual fuck is wrong with these people? Fuck Hollywood...
