Sean Strickland Delivers a Surprising Split Decision Performance Against Khamzat Chimaev

Sean Strickland is your UFC Middleweight Champion again.

The walking meme lord and professional shit-talker just pulled off a massive upset, beating the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev by split decision in a gritty five-round war at UFC 328. Despite all the bad blood and venomous trash talk leading up to the fight, Strickland stuck to his game plan — that nasty, stinging jab was working all night, battering Khamzat for the majority of 25 minutes. Khamzat had his moments, especially a dominant first round with takedowns and control, but he couldn’t keep up the pace. Strickland stormed back and did what he does best: outworked, outboxed, and outlasted a younger, stronger killer. After the fight, Strickland showed respect and actually apologized for some of the wild pre-fight shit he said:

“I just want to apologize to my American fans, to my Muslim fans and my Christian fans. I went too fucking hard. I’ll admit it. I respect all you guys. Chechnya has great fighters. They’re savage. He’s a fucking savage. I should be a better fucking example but I try to sell these fights for you fuckers.”

He also gave Khamzat his flowers:

“That motherfucker would not go back. I’m hitting him with everything and he just keeps coming forward. Crazy.”

Khamzat even put the belt around Strickland’s waist after the fight. Real warrior shit. In a sport full of fake tough guys and influencers, last night we got two actual killers going to war. Strickland proved once again that heart, chin, and veteran IQ still matter. Huge respect to both warriors!
